Cottonwood - updated

We are here and this morning it is a balmy 31 degrees... And of course, I didn't leave the heat on so our neighbors wouldn't have to listen to the diesel aquahot. So... it was 50 inside... FREEZING! The heating system is on now.

Yesterday was a less then fun trip. The truck threw a low-boost engine code and went into limp mode again. And unfortunately, there was a giant mountain to climb. So, at 35 mph, pulling the atv trailer - in passing grear to keep the speed up (I'm sure the tranny didn't like it) I struggled up the 8 mile grade. Almost felt like I should have gotten out and pushed. After the truck sat for an hr or so, the code disappeared and its running fine again. I'm starting to hate the truck. Still considering whether we should get it fixed here or limp it home. But since it's our only mode of transportation for visiting the nearby attractions - we might wait until we get back to Parker. Just once I'd like it to happen when Steve is driving.

We are in a pretty nice Thousand Trails resort - part of our TT membership. Free camping for two weeks. Pool, spa... restaurant... stuff we haven't discovered yet. And we can ride our atvs out of the park. But Steve's having back and leg issues, so the atvs may be on the back burner during our stay.

This is the view from Jerome - a really cool copper mining town. We will be coming back to explore when Helen and Bruce get here.

Today, we headed to Prescott to wander through the historic area. I could live there very easily - except for the snow and ice in the winter... and monsoons in July. We have some friends which are buying a second home there. We called them so we could do a "drive by" of their soon to be new home and turns out they were in Prescott signing the paperwork. So.. we got a tour of the new house. More than 2200 square feet at the end of a court with an outstanding view of the Prescott Valley - all for $260,000. Brand new kitchen, two master suites and spotless. Yep, I could live there.

It's time to revive this blog (from 2016 apparently!) I've been planning to do this sometime over the three months since we first left...

Blog renewal

It's been recommended that I start a blog. But in truth, I've had this one for a few years which focuses on our travels. And, frankly, it...
